First Day of School!!!

I was awoken this morning at 6 a.m. to Jocelyn screamin "First day of school, first day of school" I'm glad my excitement for school passed on to my daughter :)

She would not stop talking about school last night until midnight. Then right before she dozed off she begged me not to let her sleep in like sleeping beauty.

Sara is sad to see our 'baby' start school. I'm glad to have a 2 hour break where I'm not told what to do. (I'm thinking of sending Sara back to college, so I can rule my castle every morning and walk around my house naked)

Broncos 23 - Cowboys 13

I was blessed enough to be able to pay homage to my other Sunday religion and visit the motherland known as Mile High Stadium. As sad as my life be, I must admit this was a very, very cool experience. We sat on the 12th row on the 35 yard line, and we were close enough to mock T.O. by making fun of 'his quarterback.'

Kirk was unsure of the price we paid for the tickets, but he felt like it was quite a deal when he realzied how close we were to the cheerleaders. I was amazed at how long one person could stare with out blinking.

There is truly nothing like eating a 'Bronco Brat' on the 12th row...

Princess Jocelyn

She's acted like a princess for 5 years, but today it was for real. Jocelyn got to be princess for a day at Utah's first annual Princess Festival. She got to ride in a carriage, try on a glass slipper, and dance with Prince Charming (not as charming as her father, but a close 2nd.)

She loved every minute of it and of course her head is a little higher, wave a little cripser, and her demands and orders have never been firmer.

VIVA Lake Powell...

We spent 6 days and 5 nights in the poor man's paradise, lake powell. Everything was great on the trip, and there were no 'near death' experiences this go round.

The trip was highlighted by the following:

- The 'So you think you can dance' competition. (Ty and Hunter take first place. Ty with his worm and Hunter with his Macarena, BOO on all those that ignored the 'magic lasso')
- The WaveBroads (Abby as 'FullThrottle', and Brynn as 'DriveBy')

- Getting a speeding ticket by a fake cop (Go SpeedRacer Jani)

- The awesome firework display (Thanks Grandma)

- Cool white lines down your back competiton (Kirk domniated)

- Tube Rides (Ty and Hunter getting sweet air on the double up, and Abby and Brynn skipping across the lake during the 'cyclone of death')

- The nap competition (Grandpa = 16, Kirk = 13...close race, honorable mention to Cade for sleeping anytime work was going on)

- 'THE DIRT CLUB' (Sr. Dive members, Jeremy, Kirk, Aaron, and Cade exceeded depths of 18 feet to get dirt in the a.m and p.m. Jr. Dive members, known as the Dirt Kubs include Brynn and Abby for getting dirt at 10 feet)

Hunter wins All-Star tourney and earns his first trophy!!!

Congrats to Hunter for winning his first trophy. He can't stop smiling about it. His All-Star team went undefeated in the tournament and won each game by an average of 11 runs. Hunter batted 1.000 for the tournament. I'm quite jealous of their uniforms. They got flex fit hats and under armour jerseys. I always got stuck with mesh hats and a t-shirt for our all-star teams.

RedSox finish 3rd...

Congrats to the RedSox for finishing the city tournament in 3rd place. Not bad for a team that only had one 8 year old.

Cougar Camp Day 2...

The boys were tired today, but woke up quickly when they saw Coach Mendenhall. Alex was too nervous to meet him and Hunter did not know who he was. :) Hunter continued his domination on his smaller opponents in his age group and Alex was in the top 3 in the 40 yard dash. They were able to hit the 'tackling dummy' alot today and they started out hugging it. After some guidance from me they were laying the wood on the dummy, which then turned to a few ninja kicks and elbows...kids will be kids...I've added another slideshow below..i realize my camera can't handle the action photos, and makes them blurry
